Liza Minnelli Biography
A true showbiz kid as the daughter of Judy Garland and director Vincente Minnelli, Artist was clearly born to entertain. In 1972, though she had already won a Tony award and been nominated for an Oscar, Liza truly became a household name via her role in the film version of CABARET. Throughout her career, she was always a stalwart representative of the Great American Songbook, which most singers of her generation had long since discarded. She also continued her memorable film career, with the likes of NEW YORK, NEW YORK and ARTHUR, and remained a stage presence as well.
