Master P Biography
Rivaling Sean "Puffy" Combs for the title of Most Visible Rap Mogul, rapper Artist (born Percy Miller) ran the No Limit label, was a player with the Charlotte Hornets, and put out films such as the comedy I GOT THE HOOK-UP. Responsible for exporting New Orleans-styled synth-rap (analog synth melodies, frenetic, bouncy rhythms) to the whole of the United States, Artist's No Limit label was at one point synonymous with Southern rap. Never quite topping the strength of his debut GHETTO D, Artist has been plagued with financial and legal problems since the late '90s.
