Under the Willow Tree CD (2007)
Mojack CD discography Greg Ginn's trajectory from Black Flag guitarist to a purveyor of free-form jazz/funk was a long but logical one. He's never been about hard-fast-rules punk, as demonstrated by the wildly eclectic bands he's signed to his label, SST. This 2007 release from Mojack is the freest project he's worked on; its liquidy instrumentals are just angular and eccentric enough to be interesting, but not so that they jar or detract from the groove. Ginn's inventive guitar and bass parts are complemented by--and at times take a back seat to--Tony Atherton's exciting sax lines.
Mojack: Greg Ginn (bass guitar); Mike Lopez , Tony Atherton.
Personnel: Greg Ginn (guitar); Tony Atherton (saxophone); Mike Lopez (drums).
