Crack House CD (2008)
Owen Davis CD discography Owen Davis is a singer/songwriter playing in and around West Virginia, Maryland and DC. A 20 year veteran with 6 CDs to his credit, Davis has penned quirky snapshots of everyday life with musical styles that range from country to ska. Crack House, Davis' third release, produced the core musicians that have been with him ever since. The Free Hummus Allstars feature Kim Monday on bass, Rick Ravenscroft on drums and Mark Poole on lead guitar. Knoxville's Todd Steed makes an appearance as well as Craig Shields, a Morgantown native who has been playing with Edwin McCain for many years. Crack House can be best described as a collection of college town stories. The CD opens with the raucous student observation, "Don't make me make change without seeing the back of the cash register machine." "This Professor's son" aptly describes a town square where common folk meet and Davis tries to fit in. And of course Davis always has a couple of drinking songs, namely "Harvey Wallbanger and Me" and the anthem "Drinking at Noon."

Winner CD (1989)
Owen Davis CD discography One-time gospel and later soul vocalist Dorothy Moore tried a comeback in the late '80s on the reactivated Volt label. This was her second album for them, and it was well produced, with the same heartache ballads, wailers, and uptempo soul songs she'd previously recorded for Malaco and on her previous Volt release. Unfortunately, the album sank like a stone. ~ Ron Wynn

Down To Business CD (1989)
Owen Davis albums The Spinners made a bid for renewed stardom on a soul independent when they signed with the revived Volt in 1989. Unfortunately, they also found out quickly that being on Volt didn't mean in the late '80s what it meant in the '60s and '70s. Despite a representative effort, with some excellent harmonizing and fine, soulful leads from John Edwards, they couldn't even get ...
