Coming from Reality CD (1971)
Phil Dennys songs Recorded in 1971 as the second chapter in this legendarily under-the-radar Detroit bard's career, COMING FROM REALITY reads like the coda to a hippie dream the singer never got to have. Dylan, Donovan, and the Beatles remain the primary influences here, but the vision and approach is all his own: images are simultaneously psychedelic and stark, lyrical themes both sociopolitical and inner, and arrangements both embroidered and hard-hitting. Much like that of FOREVER CHANGES-era Arthur Lee, the "reality" of this title encompasses both a vivid romantic's sense of heaven and a nihilist's sense of hell.

The reissue includes radio advertisements and additional songs.
While Jade's only album is decent early-'70s British folk-rock, its similarity to the material that Sandy Denny sang lead on with Fairport Convention is so evident that it's rather unnerving. Marian Segal sounded more like Denny than any other British folk-rock singer of the time did, and the songs mixed rock music, more traditional British Isles folk ...

Psycho-Relics: The Psychedelic Adventures Of Pete Miller, Part 2 CD (1999)
Phil Dennys discography Psycho-Relics is another compilation with yet more "lost" tracks from idiosyncratic psychedelic renegade Big Boy Pete Miller. Miller's inelegant voice and fanciful instrumentation were a big influence on subsequent D.I.Y. popsters like the Virgineers and the Squires of the Subterrain. However, Miller's sound was also influenced by blues and '50s music. Miller's lyrics were a cut above others of this ilk, although there was perhaps abuse of such ironic cannabis couplets as "shimmering bubbles ...
