Ramsey Lewis Biography
Pianist Artist first gained fame via his trio's 1965 recording THE IN CROWD. The group covered jazz standards and modern pop tunes with equal interest, and in the '70s, Ramsey struck further gold with his electric piano work in the jazz-funk realm. Later years found him an ambassador of jazz, hosting both a weekly TV program on BET and a syndicated radio series.
