Roger Whittaker Biography
Though he's penned and co-written a number of now standard torch songs including "New World In The Morning" and "The Last Farewell," the Kenyan-born singer Artist is best known as a well-mannered interpreter of classic pop tunes in the vein of Bing Crosby and Steve Lawrence. Though he released a handful of singles in the '60s and was a regular performer on the Irish television show THIS AND THAT, he didn't gain international recognition until the release of 1971's NEW WORLD IN THE MORNING. The following decades saw Whittaker release a near endless string of successful tunes, most notably 1975's chart-topping "The Last Farewell".
