The album opens with the blistering title track "Light In the Sky" with lyrics that rage against blind faith and religious discrimination engulfed in a relentless dual guitar attack. The more melodic "I Say Wait" takes on violent extremism across the political spectrum with swirling, chiming guitars and a harmonica solo that howls against those who would kill in the name of God. "By The Time We Stop" is a swinging country-rock number riddled with violin that manages to poke fun at the Nashville music establishment and the legacy of Gram Parsons, all in just 1 song.
