Zappa Plays Zappa music CDs Recorded live in 2006, ZAPPA PLAYS ZAPPA finds guitarist Dweezil Zappa paying tribute to his late father, the quirky, boundary-pushing singer/multi-instrumentalist/composer Frank Zappa. Joined by guitar virtuoso Steve Vai and drummer Terry Bozzio, along with Napoleon Murphy Brock (vocals, saxophone, flute), a veteran of the elder Zappa's band, Dweezil embarks on a set of Frank's best known tunes, including the bizarrely bluesy "Cosmik Debris" and the spry, giddy "Don't Eat the Yellow Snow." A fitting homage to an eccentric rock icon, this concert successfully captures the senior Zappa's adventurous, zany spirit, and allows room for Dweezil to turn in performances that would make his dad proud.
