In the unique tradition of Pat Benetar, trained opera singer Lisa Larpenteur makes her pop / alternative rock debut as lead vocalist for ABACUS.The band was formed in 1997 and is based in Portland, Oregon. John spent several years in the Los Angeles music scene as a producer, writer and engineer. She is joined by John Rachel (synthesizers, guitar) as primary songwriters for ABACUS. This initial EP release is being played widely throughout the Pacific NW and northern California and will be followed this Fall by a full 14-song CD.Lisa has a powerful, yet smooth and emotionally delicate voice and includes among her influences Annie Lennox and Debbie Harry (who also had large sparkling white teeth).
