REVIVER is supremely recommended listening for those caught somewhere between indie-pop sweetness and abrasive amp destruction "Endless Sleeper" is a brief, instrumental intermission, before the final two cuts, "Wild Heart" and "Reaper," challenge listeners with monotone drone and loose-limbed, cymbal-crashing chaos. This five-song mini-effort by Los Angeles favorites Abe Vigoda is a testing ground for their wandering interests in noise, feedback, volume, vocal weirdness, and occasionally willful coherence. "House," however, restores their expected herky-jerky post-punk percussion, before blasting into a squalling and feedback-driven second half. Opener "Don't Lie" is a practically pretty shoegaze exercise, veering melodically close to more majestic contemporaries like Asobi Seksu.
