We’ve sent CD’s to neighboring islands throughout Southeast Alaska, and are getting a lot of support and airtime from the radio stations. We’re the Allen Sisters – Penny Allen (Firefighter / EMT II-D and mother of two), and Theresa Allen (TSA Agent and mother of three). We were born and raised on the small Southeast Alaskan island of Wrangell (pronounced ‘rain-gull’), which lies just above Ketchikan. Having such a great experience at Hill Top Studios with the first album, and success selling our CD’s, we went ahead and recorded our second album, “Jump the Waves”, at the same location in May of 2005. Penny plays rhythm guitar and writes some, while Theresa does most of the writing. We’ve also sent our CD’s to radio stations throughout the U.S. Our first CD was featured in the radio reporting magazine “New Music Weekly”. We went to Nashville in June of 2002 to make our first recording at Hill Top Studios. With more than talented musicians, it was easy to turn out a great record. Some of the studio musician’s names will be familiar, i.e. Milton Sledge on Drums, and Glen Duncan on Fiddle. We have been singing since we were old enough to talk, and started writing our own music in 1997.
