 Mose Allison Biography
With a laconic Southern drawl, nimble jazz piano style, and sardonic, bluesy songs, Mose Allison combines blues and jazz in a unique, distinctive style. Though he's best known for singing darkly humorous songs like "Your Mind Is on Vacation," he's just as talented on the piano, having released many all-instrumental albums and played alongside cool jazz giants such as Stan Getz and Gerry Mulligan. Allison's work has proved as influential to rockers as to jazz musicians, with the Clash, the Who, Van Morrison, and others covering his material.
