Following an acrimonious split with Wind-Up Records, the Atlanta-based hard-rock act Alter Bridge soldiered on with 2007's BLACKBIRD, a set of post-grunge anthems staunchly in the vein of its debut, ONE DAY REMAINS. The former members of Creed have clearly gelled with their new lead vocalist, Myles Kennedy, who often evokes Chris Cornell with his powerhouse singing, as best exemplified by the soaring single, "Rise Today."

Soon after the demise of Creed was made public to the world, guitarist Mark Tremonti, drummer Scott "Flip" Phillips, and returning bassist Brian Marshall announced they would form a new band. Like that film's main character, Kennedy picks up the torch tossed aside by a departing frontman, leading to Alter Bridge's debut, ONE DAY REMAINS.
The chemistry of the group on this album is an undeniable force. Enter singer Myles Kennedy of the fiercely underrated Mayfield Four, also known for his cameo in the movie ROCK STAR.
