Dan Auerbach CD discography As the front half of Akron, Ohio, alt-blues duo the Black Keys, Artist hollered and shredded his way through several critically acclaimed records, reinvented Zeppelin-like blues riffs for the '00s, and somehow landed himself within a stone's throw of the Billboard top ten. After the band's fifth record, 2008's ATTACK & RELEASE, Auerbach began releasing his own solo albums that featured more fleshed-out instrumentation than his main gig and drew on wider influences, from the Stanley Brothers to Stax Soul. The Akron-born rocker also founded his own record label, Polymer Sounds, and recording studio, Akron Analog.
