Lou Barlow Biography
Lou Barlow, the face of alt-generation mope rock and lo-fi laments, has generally wrapped his introspective lyrics in the protective guise of Sebadoh or the Folk Implosion. The bulk of his real solo output has been under the moniker of Lou Barlow and His Sentridoh, through which he released cassettes like MOST OF THE WORST AND SOME OF THE BEST, and eventually put together a formal compilation called, simply, LOU BARLOW AND HIS SENTRIDOH. The contrast between his childlike expressionism--he has filed his solo work under the absurdly precious Loobiecore category and his website is full of earnestly adorable scrawings and chickenscratch blog posts--and grippingly adult lyrical themes supplies much of the appeal for Barlow's fervent fan base. Those loyalists were rewarded with 2005's EMOH, a smorgasbord of covers and originals, finally released under his own name.
