Beirut Biography
Beirut discography Wunderkind Zach Condon amazed audiences and critics alike with the 2006 debut album from his band Artist. Combining songwriterly skills that recall the Magnetic Fields and Rufus Wainwright with a passion for Eastern European folk music styles--especially klezemer and Balkan brass bands--Condon created a unique musical hybrid that was at once adventurous and happily accessible. While Condon continued to turn to traditional Eastern European music on subsequent records, he also began incorporating various other global folk styles, creating a more robust yet still distinct sound.
