Bevis Frond CD discography The Artist is the long-running musical nom de plume of British psychedelic guitar-rock maven Nick Saloman. As prolific as artists come, Saloman has been releasing albums since the mid-1980s, and though his style is eclectic it's very much inspired by vintage 1960s acid rock. The Artist and Saloman are both closely associated with the magazine Ptolemaic Terrascope, a legendary underground publication that centered on obscure psychedelia and other outre styles of rock music. Saloman has also had a close working relationship with busker/singer-songwriter Mary Lou Lord that began in the late '90s.
