 Big Youth Biography
The most innovative and influential DJ stylist since U-Roy, Big Youth broke profound new ground in the early '70s with a chant-like style that was to set the pace for the rest of that decade. Deep into roots reggae and the Rastafarian faith, Big Youth had a melodious and highly infectious vocal style that was used to powerful effect on consistently weighty subject matter, often concerning the hell of living in the ghetto.
