TJ Rehmi and Ravi Bal mix deep Banghra beats with wild snake-charming flutes on "Bajaman." The Dum Dum Project assembled this worthy collection and contributes two tracks, with a beautiful female voice invoking spirits over the smooth Goa Trance-esque tabla and chime samples. World beats, indigenous voices, chants, sitars, flutes, bells, and whistles combine on "Nadia" by Nitin Sawhney. A second disc features a guided meditation by David Life and Sharon Gannon, the founders of New York's famous Jivamukti Yoga Center. It's accessible, inspiring, beautiful, and very hip. It's the perfect disc for yoga as the morning sun rises and the surf rolls in the background, even if such features are only in the awakening mind. This trance-minded, global-chill set makes a typical yoga session feel like a day at a trendy beachside spa. A whole world-view, history lesson, pep talk, and mystical invocation is wrapped up in their session. As anyone who's been there knows, they provide much more than merely a guide through breathing, asanas, and chanting. A Spanish version is also included.

In his liner notes to this soundtrack album, film producer/director Jonathan Demme writes that he and his director of photography, Declan Quinn, "decided to take as documentary-like an approach as we could to" Rachel Getting Married, even though it was a fictional movie about the marriage of a young upper-class American woman at her father's home in Stamford, CT, and the disruption caused by her sister, temporarily discharged from rehab for the event.
