Bob Biography
Born Robert Ray Simmons, the Decatur, Georgia, native B.o.B. is a fast-rising producer/MC signed to T.I.'s Grand Hustle label. Discovered by TJ Chapman in 2006 after performing his ode-to-weed single, "Cloud 9," at ATL nightspot Club Crucial, B.o.B. went on to release a string of mixtapes throughout '07 and '08. Influenced by the genre-bending works of Outkast, Gnarls Barkley, and Wyclef Jean, B.o.B. creates unconventional southern hip-hop--exemplified by the single "I'll Be in the Sky"--that blends elements of soul, funk, jazz, doo-wop, and pop-rock. His debut album, THE ADVENTURES OF B.O.B., was scheduled for release in 2009.
