Roy Buchanan Biography
A master of the Telecaster, Artist was one of the most renowned blues guitarists of the 1970s and '80s. His dazzling technique and distinct style earned him a reputation as a guitarist's guitarist. He started out working with Dale Hawkins and Ronnie Hawkins (no relation) in the late '50s, and began a solo career in the '70s that earned him a hardcore cult following. His alcohol problems worsened in the '80s, and in 1988 he was found hung to death in a jail cell, but his influence continued on for many years after his death.
