 Charlie Byrd Biography
Charlie Byrd was a distinctive guitarist who brought a refined, classical approach to jazz guitar. His appearance on the Stan Getz album JAZZ SAMBA in the early 1960s helped usher in the bossa nova craze of that era, and his later recordings, particularly with the Great Guitars trio, demonstrate his highly developed technique and musical sense.
