 Cafe Tacuba Biography
Mexican rock band Cafe Tacuba (sometimes spelled "Cafe Tacvba") is generally regarded as being at the forefront of the Rock En Espanol movement, alongside Mana, Aterciopelados, et al., though there's considerably less pan-Latin rhythmic sensibility (and a greater eclecticism) in its sound than in that of its peers. Since its inception in the late 1980s, Cafe Tacuba has been a forward-looking ensemble. The group has remained on the cutting edge by combining rock, reggae, punk, electronics, and the occasional traditional Mexican flavoring for a sui generis style that earned the combo the tag of "the Rock En Espanol Radiohead."
