| Laura Cantrell appears on They Might Be Giants Dial-A-Song: 20 Years Of They Might Be Giants CDs (2002) Digipak
$20.45 They Might Be Giants are quite possibly the quirkiest pop-hook mavens ever to employ the accordion and bass clarinet. They are also one of most educationally oriented bands on the planet. Even a cursory listen to DIAL-A-SONG, Rhino's twin-disc 2002 ...

| Laura Cantrell appears on Hard-Headed Woman: A Celebration Of Wanda Jackson CD (2004)
$12.49 Nick Tosches once famously described Wanda Jackson as "the greatest menstruating rock & roll singer whom the world has ever known," and while he doubtless chose those words for comic effect, the nervy crudity is not entirely inappropriate. At her ...

$8.39 APOLLO 18 is They Might Be Giants' second major label outing. It offers their now-familiar mix of catchy but oblique pop ditties ("I Palindrome I," "My Evil Twin," "The Statue Got Me High"), humorously punny numbers ("She's Actual Size," "Dinner ...

 Laura Cantrell Biography
Singer-songwriter Laura Cantrell first gained widespread attention in 1992 when she sang the verses on They Might Be Giants' hit "The Guitar," but her own music is rooted in old-fashioned country. Following a debut EP on John Flansburgh's Hello Recording Club label in 1996, she released her first full-length, NOT THE TREMBLIN' KIND, in 2000, followed by 2002's WHEN THE ROSES BLOOM AGAIN and 2005's HUMMING BY THE FLOWERED VINE. Laura Cantrell is also a longtime disc jockey on the pioneering freeform radio station WFMU in New Jersey, hosting Radio Thrift Shop, a show devoted to traditional country music.
