After taking a break from music to focus on another career, Kevin actively returned to recording in 2005 and performing in 2007. A native of Georgia, Kevin grew up in Denver where he was first exposed to his early influences of Dan Fogelberg, Joni Mitchell and Kenny Loggins. Kevin Carlson is a Woodstock, Georgia-based singer/songwriter who has been playing and writing music for over 2 decades. Since the mid-70's, he has primarily played 12-string acoustic and has written the vast majority of his material on that instrument. His recent songs have charted in the Top 25 on several internet charts and have received great reviews from local music writers. After leaving Denver for the Atlanta area in 1981, Kevin played in numerous rock bands but returned to his roots in acoustic folk-rock music. He also plays piano, bass, mandolin along with a few other instruments and usually can be heard playing most of the parts on his recordings. He writes about experiences that have left an impression on him, and songs about life experiences we have all faced. His music can be described as folk-rock and folk-pop.
