June Carter Cash CD discography As part of the seminal Carter Family group, Artist was country-music royalty. Always one to keep her musical talents in the family, she also worked with her first husband, Carl Smith (their daughter Carlene Carter would become a successful country singer as well), before collaborating with Johnny Cash (June co-wrote his hit "Ring of Fire"), who would eventually become her second husband. She released several albums with Johnny over the years, and the two remained inseparable for the rest of their lives. June passed away in 2003, just a few months before Johnny, but the pair left behind a wealth of country classics.
