Chamillionaire Biography
Flying under the mainstream radar for many years, Artist (aka the Mixtape Messiah) has been a fixture of the Houston hip-hop scene since he was a teenager, working with the now-legendary Swisha House clique and releasing dozens of mixtapes that went "ghetto gold." By the time he finally hooked up with a major label in 2005, his multi-tempo delivery and harmonized vocals were already shining like a diamond grill. As THE SOUND OF REVENGE went platinum, Artist assumed his rightful place alongside Bun-B, Paul Wall, Slim Thug, and Mike Jones as a true playa in the Houston hip-hop renaissance of the early 2000s.
