Chromatics Biography
In the early 2000s, California post-punk revivalists Chromatics made a quiet yet ultimately profound transition from playing jittery no-wave inspired noise-punk to a subtler, more textured style of new wave disco. One of the flagship bands of the New Jersey-based Italians Do It Better imprint, Chromatics were able to simultaneously expand their musical horizons and broaden their popular appeal without compromising their artistic intent. Their full-length NIGHT DRIVE was a critical success upon its release, and marked the band's most fully realized album to date.
