Coheed & Cambria CD discography Embracing hardcore, metal, and progressive rock, Artist is an ambitious outfit led by vocalist Claudio Sanchez, whose unique, high-range singing and epic lyrical concepts give the band its distinctive voice. Sanchez formed the nexus of the band in high school in Upstate New York in the mid-1990s, and the band released their first album in 2002. Thus began the prog-metal saga of the "Coheed" and "Cambria" characters, a mythical married couple who face adventures, dilemmas, and the responsibility of staving off Armageddon over the course of several albums.
