We here at Warble feel you will be hard-pressed to find much adventurous pop music that is this careful in all the right ways. Daniel Severin Rafn’s first proper album, Vocals, took eight years to conceive, compose and painstakingly record. Gorgeous layers of varied electronic and acoustic instruments, rich vocal polyphonies, it’s all here. But this is no rush job. Miraculously, Daniel has managed to deliver his sophomore effort, The Wayfarer, in less than five years! The time spent shows in every gorgeous melody, crafty synth texture and enveloping arrangement. The twist this time out is the striking neo-Medieval influence.
