El-P Biography
El-P (a.k.a. Artistroducto) was one half of the groundbreaking 1990s underground hip-hop act Company Flow. Following the break-up of CoFlo, Artist turned his efforts toward his solo career and running the esteemed label Def Jux. In addition to releasing critically lauded records by himself and other underground heroes such as Aesop Rock, Cannibal Ox, and Mr. Lif, Producto also brought his unique production sense--marked by hectic, dense soundscapes--to bear on many of those artists. Artist has devoted himself to maintaining the true spirit of hip-hop in the face of a total mainstream takeover.
