 Fastbacks Biography
Fastbacks CD discography Guitarist and songwriter Kurt Bloch formed the Artist in Seattle in 1979 with bassist Kim Warnick and guitarist Lulu Gargiulo, who shared lead vocal duties. Making their full-length debut with 1987's Artist AND HIS ORCHESTRA following a spate of singles, the group released 10 studio albums before disbanding in 2001. Because of the increased interest in the Seattle scene following Nirvana's breakthrough, 1992's THE QUESTION IS NO and 1993's ZUCKER became their best-known albums. Among the Artist' many drummers over the years were Duff McKagan (later of Guns N Roses), Tad Hutchinson (Young Fresh Fellows) and John Moen (the Decemberists).
