 Fred Frith Biography
One of the most active members of the British experimental rock scene since the 1970s, guitarist Fred Frith has at one time or another collaborated with seemingly every major figure in progressive rock and experimental jazz, from Richard Thompson to Anthony Braxton. Along with the ongoing and prolific solo career that started with 1974's improvisational GUITAR SOLOS, Frith has been a member of many bands, including Henry Cow, the Art Bears, Massacre, John Zorn's Naked City, and the art-rock supergroup French, Frith, Kaiser, Thompson. His brother, Simon Frith, is a well-known music critic and cultural theorist.
