Robbie Fulks albums Ostensibly an alt-country singer-songwriter, Chicago-based Artist stands out in his field by being willing and able to leap out of the confines of his genre on a regular basis. With laugh-out-loud lyrics and a vivid imagination, he has also been known to experiment with rock, cabaret, old-timey folk, jazz, and even string-laden pop. With the exception of his 1998 release on Geffen Records, Fulks has proudly stayed "indie" and has still managed to garner a loyal following of fans.
