They started 'Funky Mustard' as a collective musical project, with an approach to writing music without format, or genre. Fueled by the simpatico that comes from playing together for a while, this ensemble makes their moves with an easy grace that makes it fun to listen to. The 2 have played together since 1994 in a few different Bands. White & Drummer/Producer Kevin Crenshaw in the summer of 2002. Their influences of Donald Byrd, Pat Metheny, Weather Report, and Herb Alpert show through in this music. 'Funky Mustard' is a Musical project started by Songwriter/Guitarist/Producer Larry D. The kind of stuff you want to have around when it's time to kick back' . Not at all concerned with where to draw the line, they merrily genre splice all kinds of elements from world and jazz mixing it up with elements from contemporary masters they enjoy. ~ What the Critic's are saying ~ 'Here's a bunch of Jazzbos from Texas that are simply out for a good time. #9- Strummer Boy & #13- Cello Boy are sure to be this years Holiday Favorites. Their 5th CD 'Jazza Mundo' is full of Eclectic World Music, with a dose of Jazz , and Rock mixed in for full flavor . One of the best bands coming out of Houston, TX, these guys really know how to bring a song to life.
