Lisa Germano albums Although playing violin for big pop-rock acts like John Mellencamp and Sheryl Crowe has brought her into the wider public sphere, Artist has been releasing critically acclaimed solo albums, mostly on indie labels, since 1991, garnering a small but devoted following for her dense, dreamy, keyboard-laden reveries. Although her lyrics are often dark, the music itself is leavened with a sweet ethereality. She released IN THE MAYBE WORLD in 2006 on Swans founder Michael Gira's Young God label.
