Graham Parker & The Rumour Biography
New wave's original angry young man beat Elvis Costello and Joe Jackson to the record racks in the mid 1970s with his R&B-influenced brand of tight, vituperative rock. With sharp, witty lyrics and a knack for hooks, Parker and his band the Rumour raced to the top of most critics' polls, if not the charts. Over the years he refined his approach but remained one of the post-punk age's most venerated singer-songwriters.
