| | Stormcock CD (1971)
$22.25 Widely considered Roy Harper's masterpiece, 1971's STORMCOCK downplays the mercurial quirkiness of Harper's earlier records in favor of a mature, sophisticated, but never stuffy or boring orchestrated folk-rock song cycle. Scored by David Bedford, the four lengthy songs mix folk, ...

| Jugula CD (1985)
$17.79 Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page backs Harper up on this album and earns co-billing for his trouble. The guitar interplay turns out to be the highlight of the album. Harper displays a nihilistic attitude toward everything in general, and quite ...

| Valentine CD (1974)
$17.75 Originally released on Valentine's Day 1974, VALENTINE is not exactly a collection of sweet love songs, unless you'd consider cuddling to tunes like "Male Chauvinist Pig Blues" and "Magic Woman (Liberation Shuffle)." On the other hand, this is probably Roy ...

 Roy Harper Biography
Eccentric, prolific British singer/songwriter Roy Harper is a legend on the U.K. folk-rock scene. He began recording in the late 1960s, as something of a cross between Bob Dylan's troubadourism and Syd Barrett's freewheeling, wild-eyed visions. Though Harper has had an impact on British rockers who gained greater fame (he's feted in Led Zeppelin's "Hats Off To Roy Harper," sings lead on Pink Floyd's "Have a Cigar," and was a major influence on Jethro Tull), his mix of folk and prog-rock has earned him a niche all his own in the pantheon of British songwriters.
