| Homecoming CD (1985)
$13.25 This is an unusual album in several ways. At the time, the Spindletop label was mostly known for releasing commercial jazz sets, not a challenging outing such as this 1985 outing between two veterans. Tenor saxophonist Eddie Harris and pianist ...

| Electrifying Eddie Harris/Plug Me In CD (1993)
$9.29 This CD combines two fine Harris dates from 1967 and 1968. The Electrifying Eddie Harris had bluesy, soulful examples of Harris on electric Varitone sax. "Listen Here" ranked second only to "Freedom Jazz Dance" among his most popular compositions, while ...

| Tender Storm CD (1966)
$9.95 In a sense, this LP was really the calm before the storm, the album where Eddie Harris unveiled some new wrinkles in his act that would explode on the very next album Electrifying, while hewing tightly to a standard acoustic ...

| Come On Down! / The Reason Why I'm Talking Shit CDs (2006)
$11.59 Eddie Harris received a lot of critical flak in the 1970s from jazz purists for his experiments in hard-driving soul-jazz and his forays into stand-up comedy. Those jazz purists should avoid this two-disc set, which brings together a couple of ...

| Best Of Eddie Harris CD (1989)
$9.69 Part of a massive Atlantic Jazz Anthology series in 1970, this LP-turned-CD was skimpy in its day, and now serves as the sketchiest of introductions to this bewilderingly eclectic saxophonist/inventor/pianist/bopper/balladeer/funkmeister. Even assuming the limited time frame, why were three of ...

 Eddie Harris Biography
Mult-instrumentalist (including some of his own creation!), Eddie Harris was a true jazz iconoclast. He was among the first to utilize rock rhythms, in combination with electronic effects, and make them work in the jazz context. His first release, "Theme From Exodus" was a million-selling Top 40 hit in 1961, which affirmed his unorthodox style. He continued to experiment with rock, funk, and electronics throughout the '60s, garnering another hit with Les McCann in "Compared to What".
