 Eddie Harris Biography
Mult-instrumentalist (including some of his own creation!), Eddie Harris was a true jazz iconoclast. He was among the first to utilize rock rhythms, in combination with electronic effects, and make them work in the jazz context. His first release, "Theme From Exodus" was a million-selling Top 40 hit in 1961, which affirmed his unorthodox style. He continued to experiment with rock, funk, and electronics throughout the '60s, garnering another hit with Les McCann in "Compared to What".
