We'll let Hughie tell you how this album came about." After touring solidly in Australia I decided it was time to take a band to America. The boys and I had a ball playing my songs swing songs across the states but in the soul I knew that we were kind of repeating what Louis Jordan and his band had done fifty years ago. Hughie started his musical journey in a tour bus with double bass and surf boards strapped to the roof playing every venue that skirts the east coast of Australia. I think I explained it to the band as 'We could soon end up with the Yo Yos and Fondou kit in the ' musical fad' draw'. Along the way Luminaries like Lou Rawls, Bob Welch, Keith Urban and the boys from INXS have passed on a thing or two about the importance of creating something on record unlike any other artist, and then hitting the road to perform it. We played three months in Swing halls and Universities from East to West grabbing on to the coat tails of the Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Royal Crown Revue, Squirell Nut Zippers swing revival.
