Artist began to find its sound. Making a name for themselves in their hometown of Ottawa, Artist quickly became one of the biggest draws in the independent music scene around the city. Artist formed in May 2004 when the members singer Marc Bourgon, bassist Mike Korn, guitarist Mike Corkum, and drummer Mars Dej began months of writing and producing song concepts threaded from their varied musical backgrounds. Artist is a band that embodies its definition through what has been called “an aggressive wall of sound” by delivering powerful, poetic lyrics engulfed by melodically driving, incendiary musical arrangements.
