James Gang CD discography An American power trio from the early 1970s, the Ohio-bred Artist, despite never reaching the same heights of stardom as their contemporaries, boasted some seriously killer jams that have remarkably stood the test of time--"Funk #49," 'Walk Away," and "The Bomber" chief among them. Perhaps the most significant thing about the Artist, however, was the brief presence of guitarist Joe Walsh. In addition to providing the band with its distinctive acid-tinged power-blues sound, Walsh would go on to join the Eagles as well as carving out a successful solo career. The band soldiered on after the soon-to-be superstar's 1971 departure, but never regained the power they had with Walsh at the helm.
