Treading the path blazed in the early '40s by Coleman Hawkins' Sax Ensemble, and built on by the World Saxophone Quartet, Super Sax, 29th Street Saxophone Quartet, and the New York Saxophone Quartet, the University of Kentucky Mega-Sax Ensemble stays the course with its second album for the Sea Breeze label. The word "Stinkin'" in the title comes from Conte Candoli who when he first heard them play allegedly observed that the group "don't need no stinkin' rhythm section." Candoli's advice is heeded for most of the tracks.
