In pursuit of this goal, Artist took Way Out Waiting to June Audio to be produced and Precision Mastering in LA for final touches. After enjoying success opening for local crowds on his keyboard, Dustin along with long-time friend and bassist Clarke Jackman started Artist in 1996. Bob Ezrin, producer of hit albums for Alice Cooper, Kiss and Pink Floyd, commented, "I feel that you did an amazing job working on your own and for the tiny amount of money that you spent." Artist looks forward to pursuit of its goal along with the work and time it entails. It didn't take long before Way Out Waiting starting making an impression on industry leaders even with its small production budget. At age 14, Dustin began singing publicly along with picking up the guitar and adding it to his proficiencies. Dustin Christensen, singer/songwriter for Artist and self-taught artist, started playing keyboards at the tender age of two. Artist intends to catch the eye of industry leaders and take their music to the next level through well-played, solid writing and production. With their upcoming album release entitled Way Out Waiting, Artist hopes to position itself as a dark horse in the roots rock alternative genre. Dustin wrote his first song at age six. Tom Baker, hot off mastering Alien Ant Farm and Fuel's latest albums, duplicated his talent with Artist to produce a polished album. Never a stranger to adventure, Artist stands poised to emerge from the ever-growing pool of musical talent. Artist feels that with the right amount of guidance and coaching, they could break beyond the noise and scramble onto the national stage. Artist's root rock drone comes from years of influence from artists like Toad the Wet Sprocket, Counting Crows and Our Lady Peace During the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City, Artist was pleased to be selected as one of the artists to play in Olympic Square for thousands of worldwide visitors. Artist released their first demo CD in 1998 and began headlining local shows.
