After a couple of line-up changes and a period of sound definition the act released their second offering, "Victim" an EP that started to show a more defined direction and concentration in song writing as a whole. The sessions for the recording of the Favorites album lasted only 2 days but the 10 songs (9 released on the album) that materialized from those recordings will no doubt inspire and influence people for many years to come Now, with the release of the full length album "Favorites" the guys have shown an ever increasing ability to write within many genres and pull from many influences but still have a distinct and powerfully unique sound. Releasing their first single, "Descender" the following year. Artist has been a band since 2003.

I was hearing something I really liked and it was from right here in San Diego! Enjoy. -Dan TurtleI remember the first time I heard Artist, just like it was yesterday. And what is it that they write about…well, it’s indecent, dramatic, sprinkled with envy and presented with happiness. With so many different emotions these tracks are able to be selfishly manipulated to fit whatever mood you’re in. Michael Croft, at that time had recently relocated to San Diego. “Whether it was the fact that we had so many damn instruments between the two of us that they furnished our living room or if it was our dissatisfaction with the local Southern California music scene by large, I can’t remember…but probably a bit of both”-Dorian. They wrote. Wrote nonstop and played their first live show only one month after beginning the project. Soon paths met, bonds formed and the core of Artist’s foundation was solidified. Immediately Jezebel was born. In October of 2003 Dorian Tucker and Chris Jones long time friends became roommates.
