 Flaco Jimenez Biography
Accordion master Flaco Jimenez is the foremost living exponent of Tex-Mex music. A student of San Antonio's tejano music scene (in which his father, Santiago, was a major player), Jimenez did much to raise the music's profile thanks to his work in the 1970s and '80s with, among others, Dr. John, Ry Cooder, and particularly Doug Sahm and the Sir Douglas Quintet. In 1989, Jimenez and Sahm, along with Freddy Fender and Augie Meyers, formed the Tex-Mex supergroup the Texas Tornados.
