Best of all, the remastered sound is spectacular; the Project's vinyl albums had famously tinny sonics, and the aural depth and warmth here is a revelation. ANTHOLOGY includes the whole of PROJECTIONS, their only studio album, as well as most of the best cuts from their live debut, here fleshed out with alternate takes and tracks that didn't make the official release.
Also included is the better material from the Project's Capitol albums (post-Al Kooper), the great should-have-been-a-hit single "No Time Like the Right Time," and early studio tracks including a scorching version of "I'm Can't Keep From Crying" with Kooper on acoustic piano. Includes liner notes by John Platt.
A long overdue and thoroughly comprehensive best-of by one of the most eclectic American bands of the '60s. Recorded between 1964 and 1972.

Unfortunately, the blending of Native American motifs with heavy synthesizer and highly produced vocal harmonies makes the overblown spiritual message seem rather smarmy. The Coolidge sisters return as Walla with another dose of new-age gospel.
