When lead screamer Ben Perri left From Autumn to Ashes during the recording of HOLDING A WOLF BY THE EARS, it was anyone's guess how the band would proceed. Remarkably, From Autumn to Ashes doesn't sound that different here, with Mark's lead singing fitting nicely into the overall fabric of the band. Fortunately, drummer Francis Mark stepped up to the plate to assume all vocal duties (Mark's vocal interplay with Perri had long been an integral part of the outfit's sound). That said, HOLDING A WOLF delivers the crunching, melody-minded hardcore FATA is known for, with as good a batch of songs, performances, and overall bone-rattling impact as any of their efforts.

For its second Vagrant Records outing, From Autumn to Ashes sharpens its metal/hardcore edges, churning out blazing guitar riffs and propulsive rhythms amidst the tortured screams of vocalist Benjamin Perri and the more plaintive singing of drummer/vocalist Francis Mark. Given FATA's tight, dynamic percussion, it's no surprise that the group's main songwriter is Mark, who steers every track on ABANDON YOUR FRIENDS with relentless energy.
